BCSEA and CIET Collaborate on Energy Training Programs

BCSEA and the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET) have joined their effort to promote and deliver energy training programs in British Columbia.

CIET has been a leader in energy training for over 20 years. Based in Toronto, CIET has trained over 2,500 professionals and is the exclusive provider of the Association of Energy Engineer's certification programs, including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA).

Kamloops EV Show Resources

The BCSEA Kamloops Chapter and TRU Sustainability Office are happy to share some resources from our EV Show on June 23.  For now, we have a one-page handout about electric vehicles and the current incentives (see the attachment below).  We'll have more to share later so stay tuned.

The Power of Sustainable Investing - Afterthoughts & Video

On March 20th, the BCSEA Kamloops Chapter hosted an event called The Power of Sustainable Investing, in partnership with Transition Kamloops, Thompson Rivers University Sustainability Office and the speaker, Tim Nash. The session was highly informative, generating interest, excitement, and engaging discussion.  The 35 minutes talk (PowerPoint slides attached below), was followed by an equally well-received half an hour of Q&A.  About half of the seventy attendees stayed for a break-out session.

On April 21, 2017 the BCSEA hosted a 2017 Election webinar on behalf of the Energy Forum, with representatives from the three major political parties. The Energy Forum is a collaboration of British Columbian power producers, industry associations, and non-government organizations that are working together to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the nexus of energy, climate and ecosystems.

Energy Connections 2017 - The Day It All Happened (Part 1)

Energy Connections broke new ground this year, tackling the difficult but inspiring topic of community empowerment. People from across BC, heralding from various different backgrounds and industries, united under one roof for a day of information, inspiration and engaging dialogue.

Looking back on the event as a whole, it is difficult to envision a more appropriate keynote speaker to kick off this incredible day; a day marked by passionate and like-minded individuals learning from one another and engaging in the broad vision of sustainable energy.
