The Kamloops Chapter hosts a Solar Cooker workshop on Earth Day (April 22). This is your chance to build a solar cooker, cook a meal on it, and take the cooker home!
In the morning, we’ll meet at Thompson Rivers University to build the cookers. Supplies will be on hand for box ovens. You’ll also get to see other varieties of solar cookers.
The workshop will move to Riverside Park in the afternoon, where we’ll set up the cookers in the sunshine (hopefully!) We’ll have 12-15 pizzas courtesy of Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake Pizza and some other food too. This will be a great time to chat with anybody who stops by and wonders what we’re doing! When the food is cooked, we’ll share and enjoy it.
If the weather isn’t good for solar cooking, we’ll discuss at the morning session and make other plans.
Space is limited (maximum of 10 participants - 3 spaces left!) so register soon! All ages welcome. Children should be accompanied by a parent.
