Kootenay Association for Science & Technology

Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST) is a professional organization that actively promotes science, technology and innovation; and facilitates meaningful connections to stimulate entrepreneurial and economic development. Our vision is for a robust, diversified regional economy in which science, technology and innovation are valued, and the KAST is an active and credible leader; and where technology is an accessible and integral component of business success.

The Energy cluster and energy issues have been a priority for KAST and are embedded as a focus in our strategic plan. In 2008 we held the Kootenay Energy Conference a 2 ½ day event with keynote by Thomas Homer-Dixon and other great speakers on energy issues. KAST also sponsored the Climate Change Conference, the BCSEA Climate Change Showdown in our region and supports the BCSEA West Kootenay Chapter.
