Join us for a very brief chapter meeting followed by a focus group research session. Led by Shona Moore, BSW (Community-Based Researcher) and Julie Drolet, PhD (TRU Assistant Professor, School of Social Work and Human Service) this session will record our experiences for their research project.
Their research topic is "Climate Change, Disasters and Sustainable Development: Responses and Adaptations in British Columbia’s Small Cities and Rural Communities Project." Shona and Julie are investigating how members of our community are adapting and/or responding to the impacts of climate change and resultant disasters. The purpose of their study is to investigate the potential impacts of climate change and resultant disasters in the Interior of BC, specifically in rural communities and small cities of the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap-North Okanagan region.
The discussion will be one hour to one hour and a half long and will be recorded and videotaped. Confidentiality and privacy will be maintained and participation is voluntary. You will receive $20.00 to cover your expenses related to the study.
Participants may direct their $20 compensation to go towards BCSEA membership or donation if they choose.
