BCSEA Kamloops Chapter Meeting: the Green Dream Home

Chapter Meeting
Mar 23 2009 - 7:00pm

Come hear Dale Parkes speak about the Kamloops Green Dream Home!

The Green Dream Home was chosen recently as one of three projects in Canada for support by CMHC’s EQuilibrium™ Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative. Equilibrium projects represent the state-of-the-art in green house design, using practical solutions to healthy, sustainable and net-zero energy housing.

The Green Dream Home is being built by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Central Interior Chapter and Thompson Rivers University.

The home will be designed to have minimal environmental impact, aim to produce as much energy as it uses on an annual basis, and be built primarily by TRU students as part of their training program. Once completed, the home will be open for public tours and then raffled-off in the Dream Home Lottery to raise funds for the Kamloops YMCA.

Dale is an Architect with the Architectural and Engineering Technology program at Thompson Rivers University.
