The speaker at this month's chapter meeting will be Nitya Harris, M.E. Des., P.Eng. The topic of her presentation will be "The SolarBC Program — Energizing solar hot water in BC." Nitya Harris is presently the Executive Director of the SolarBC program. She initiated this program in 2005 with a pilot project to test the market for solar hot water in BC. As Project Lead, she also directed the BC 100,000 Solar Roofs Strategy and Action Plan. Nitya has worked as a gas reservoir and a pipeline engineer in the energy sector in Alberta between 1980 and 1988 and as Environment Manager of BC Buildings Corporation from 1990 to 1997. She has also taught and conducted research in the Masters of Environmental Management program at Royal Roads University from 1997 to 2003. Nitya is a Professional Engineer with a Masters in Environmental Design from the University of Calgary.
Following the presentation there will be a brief chapter meeting, detailing upcoming events and ways to get involved with the BCSEA Vancouver Chapter.
