Join us from 1-2pm on Sunday November 29, at the Riverside Park Bandshell to show Kamloops' support for clean energy and action on climate change. Dress warmly and bring your own sign or create one when you arrive – materials will be provided. This family-friendly event will give residents the opportunity to send messages of hope to global, federal and municipal leaders. Children are invited to participate in a chalk mural. We will hear about inspiring local projects from Kamloops sustainability leaders before taking a stroll to the beach for a creative group photo by the river.
This event is part of the Global Climate March. On November 30th, world leaders meet in Paris to start negotiating the next global climate deal. That’s why, the day before, people around the world will take to the streets and push leaders at every level of government to commit to 100% clean energy.
The Kamloops Climate Rally organizing committee is made up of representatives from a number of local organizations, including Kamloops 350, the BC Sustainable Energy Association, the Kamloops Adult Learners’ Society, Council of Canadians, Transition Kamloops, InCar, as well as many individual volunteers.
