Fraser Basin Council is partnering with Yale First Nation to host the "Green Homes, Warm Homes: Energy Efficient First Nations Housing" workshop on May 11, 2018 at Camp Squeah (10 minutes from Hope). This event is part of Fraser Basin Council's First Nations Home EnergySave program, which supports First Nations communities to increase the efficient use of energy in homes on reserve and to strengthen local capacity in energy efficiency.
This workshop will provide an introduction to energy efficient buildings, highlight how First Nations are building or retrofitting for energy efficient homes, help connect communities to funding/support organizations, offer hands-on training for air sealing, and showcase Yale First Nation's Passive homes through a field visit.
There is no registration cost to this workshop. We would like to thank the Real Estate Foundation of BC, BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and BC Hydro for their support. This workshop is open to elected officials, staff or community champions from First Nations communities.
