We are turning 15 and celebrating in style! Come join us on the evening of November 28 at 7pm for a presentation on how the city of Kamloops is planning to work towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions in our community. This initiative is part of the Community Climate Action Plan (CCAP,) which our speaker, Glen Cheetham, City of Kamloops Sustainability Services Supervisor will elaborate on and offer a glimpse into what the future can look like.
Attendees will be among the first to get a preview of what programs are being considered and gain insight into the major sources of our community emissions. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions. Also included in the talk are updates on the Plastic Carry-out Bag Bylaw and implementation of the BC Energy Step Code.
The event will start with a short Kamloops Chapter Annual General Meeting (AGM) of about 20 minutes. Members will be able to vote in the steering committee elections and as always, we are welcoming new members and volunteers for future projects.
