Films for Change: Clean Energy & the Case for Hope

Chapter Event
May 25 2016 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

The BCSEA Kamloops Chapter and the TRU Office of Environment and Sustainability present the next Films for Change evening on May 25.  They'll be showing a collection of very recent videos that illustrate how close we are to a clean energy transition. You'll leave feeling hopeful, knowing that it's possible to provide the world with 100% renewable energy in a few short decades.

Location: TRU Clocktower Alumni Theatre
When:  Wednesday May 25, 6:30 pm (doors open) 7:00 pm (movie begins)
Admission is by donation.

Change is happening so fast in the clean energy sector that it's hard to keep up.  "Our group watched them together, and we all saw new information that was really exciting," said Cheryl Kabloona, Chapter Chair.

The audience will hear from energy leaders Elon Musk (Tesla and Powerwall), Mark Jacobson (The Solutions Project) and former US Vice President Al Gore. We'll see what Bloomberg New Energy predicts for electric vehicles and the demand for oil, and what two First Nations here in Western Canada are doing with renewable energy.

Recognizing that technology isn't the whole picture, the evening will conclude with videos on social solutions and hope.
