On October 29th 3pm - 5:30pm, BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) Victoria Chapter, Simon Fraser Renewable Cities and Sierra Club BC invites the public to an afternoon of discussion and information. Municipal government members, subject matter experts and organizations will all convene at Saanich Commonwealth Place, to discuss what is required for the District of Saanich to achieve a 100% Renewable Energy target by 2050.
Share your views, shape your future at BCSEA Victoria Chapter’s THE BIG TOWN HALL: Saanich, Pathway to 100% Renewable Energy.
The afternoon will consist of a three-person panel of experts, who will spend 60 minutes in open and candid discussion with the public. Three topics will be discussed:
- Renewable energy at both a local and global level
- Climate change and the health of communities
- Energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in Saanich and beyond
To round out the afternoon, there will be a workshop in which panelists Tom Hackney, Betsy Agar and Victoria Barr will engage with the public and develop their own maps to a 100% Renewable Energy future. Panelists will hold a plenary session to address any and all concerns and ideas in a period of contemplation, education and inspiration.
The event is free and open to all.
