Join the BCSEA Kamloops Chapter for FREE PIZZA and some lively discussion about sustainable land use and better transportation choices that will help us live well and reduce GHGs.
KAMPLAN, Kamloops' Official Community Plan, is being updated and is in a public consultation stage now. Interested groups have been invited to host an OCPizza Night - that means we get together with free pizza, talk about some draft maps and policy directions, and collect our feedback for the city planners.
BCSEA will host two OCPizza sessions, on June 13 and 15 from 5-7 pm, facilitated by Cheryl Kabloona. Everybody's welcome. All sessions take place at Thompson Rivers University, and you'll get the room number when you register. We can accommodate up to 12 people at each session. Registrations close at noon for that day's session.
Please register here so we can order enough pizza!
An Official Community Plan sets the direction and priorities to guide decisions on planning and land use management, so it has a lot to do with how we live and get around. If we want to reduce energy consumption and GHGs, we need KAMPLAN to encourage better transportation choices like cycling, walking and transit. We want development of mixed-use neighbourhoods with some higher density areas in the urban core, so people won't always need the their cars. We want developers to build new homes that are energy-efficient. Now's the time to speak up!
If you'd like to learn more about what we'll be covering, see the OCPizza Discussion Guide.
