Farshid Borjian, (M.A.Sc., P.Eng., PE., C.Eng., MIStructE., Struct.Eng.) has a Master’s Degree in structural engineering and more than 23 years of experience in structural engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Canada, United States, Europe, and Middle East. His special designation of “Struct.Eng.” qualifies him for design of part 4 buildings. He is the executive director of Masonry Institute of BC, and Canadian Masonry Contractors Association of British Columbia, and has worked in different consulting firms in Vancouver. His special interest in teaching made him one of the instructors of structural engineering courses and a member of board of directors of Certificate in Structural Engineering Program (SEABS-CSEP Program) which offers courses for practicing engineers on a variety of subjects. The courses that he teaches include Masonry Design of Buildings, National Building Code of Canada, Design of Earth Supported Structures, Foundation Design, Concrete Structures and Anchor Bolt Design.
