BCSEA Vancouver Chapter Film Night

Registration is closed for this event
Welcome to the inaugural BCSEA Vancouver Movie Night! We are bringing you an epic battle for solar power on August 18th at the Yaletown Roundhouse, 6.30pm.

Hot on the heels of BCSEA’s inspiring solar power webinar, BCSEA Vancouver Chapter continues the summer theme of solar energy and brings  you the opportunity to watch the feature length documentary “Catching the Sun”. Come join us and like minded members and non-members for a movie and discussion! We are even providing the popcorn!

We are bringing this event to BCSEA members for free, and to non-members for just $5! Your ticket includes the movie, popcorn, a chance to chat about the solar industry with like minded people and a chance to meet the BCSEA Vancouver steering committee.

We start at 6:30pm and will finish the movie by 8:15pm, where we will have a discussion about the movie and the solar industry from both a global and local perspective. Feel free to join in the discussion or just listen to the views being shared.

A little about the documentary:

Catching the Sun is a look at the solar industry through the eyes of solar workers and entrepreneurs in USA and China. It tells the story of a race for the future and a battle for power. Over the course of a solar jobs training program, Catching the Sun follows the hope and heartbreak of unemployed American workers seeking jobs in the solar industry. Catching the Sun tells the impressive story of the global energy transition from the perspective of workers and entrepreneurs building solutions to income inequality and climate change with their own hands. Their successes and failures speak to one of the biggest questions of our time: will the U.S. actually be able to build a clean energy economy?
