MLAs urged to respond to “Code Green” opportunity in a "Hot, Flat and Crowded" world

The BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) today delivered 85 copies of Thomas Friedman’s new book “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” to the offices of new and returning members of the Legislative Assembly, who will take their seats next week for the opening of the 39th Parliament of the BC Legislature.

Copies of the books were presented personally to Minister of State for Climate Action John Yap and Opposition Environment Critic Rob Fleming.

Victoria, BC – The BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) today delivered 85 copies of Thomas Friedman’s new book “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” to the offices of new and returning members of the Legislative Assembly, who will take their seats next week for the opening of the 39th Parliament of the BC Legislature.

Successful LiveSmart program should be ramped up, not shut down

The BC Sustainable Energy Association is calling on the government to speedily bring forward plans to continue and augment the highly successful LiveSmart BC's Efficiency Incentive Program. The home retrofit and energy efficiency rebate and incentives program reached its three-year target (40,000 homes) and budget ($62M) in just 15 months of implementation, according to a government statement on Friday.

Creating the Energy for a Sustainable Future

BCSEA will hold its fifth annual general meeting, on the afternoon of Saturday, June 27, at Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary in Victoria. All members in good standing are warmly invited to participate in electing the next board of directors. The AGM will feature a presentation by BCSEA president Guy Dauncey about the recent success made possible by memberships and donations to our non-profit society.

Prior to the AGM, a day-long gathering of board members and regional leaders will be focusing on the accomplishments of our first five years and the exciting challenges ahead.
