Message from the Board

As we emerge from the 1-year anniversary of the first pandemic restrictions in BC, we find ourselves in a unique position to reflect on the past and look to the future. Despite all the challenges of the past year, BCSEA has remained very active and adapted to our new circumstances remarkably well. Although in-person events had to be canceled or curtailed, the various webinars of the past year proved to be quite popular and well attended.

Message from our Board Chair

After a very trying year, the promise of a return to normal is coinciding with the approach of Spring. The Board, Chapters, and key stakeholders held a number of strategic planning workshops in December, January, February, and March, and along with the coming of Spring, the BCSEA has a notional direction on where we are headed.

A Message from our Board Member - Arman Mottaghi

Last month had its fair share of news.  Aside from the infamous pair of mittens, I'm certain I was not the only one absorbed by stock market news where millions of people collectively made small investments for personal gain.

There are widely varying perspectives and opinions on the events surrounding GameStop and Robinhood.  But one thing that we can all appreciate is the power of the internet.  The collective desire to make positive change becomes a vital force when coordinated.

Message from our Board Director – Olga Kosarewicz

On behalf of the BCSEA Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers - we wish you and your family a year full of health, success, and happiness.  Welcome to 2021!

Message from the Board Chair - Jonathan Ho

In project management, we have a saying: “No plan survives first contact with implementation”.  It’s a recognition that no matter how much you think you’ve thought through everything, you won’t know what you didn’t think of until you try and implement it.

BCSEA

Season's Greetings!  We recently concluded our Annual General Meeting and heard about a lot of our success stories at the Provincial and Chapter levels.  You can see the slide deck from the AGM on our website for more details, but the bottom line is that we have taken a lot of action in 2019 towards achieving our goal of 100% sustainably powered British Columbia.

Greetings to my fellow sustainable energy ... enthusiasts?  Evangelists? True believers? The BCSEA is a unique organization in the sustainable energy field.  We are not clean energy producers, nor are we building system experts.  While many of us are engineers or technical experts in our professional capacities, that's not we do within the BCSEA.
