A quick snapshot from Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops & Kelowna …
In Vancouver, the Chapter’s members organized a sell-out evening on The Future of Wind Energy, with top speakers, and on May 10th they’re hosting a delegation from the JiangSu Sustainable Energy Association in China. There’s room for 75 local people, so if you want to join, contact Veronica Owens (owens.veronica (at) gmail.com). For the Chapter’s Facebook page, see https://www.facebook.com/BCSEAVancouver
In Victoria, the Chapter organized a very successful Provincial Election Climate and Energy Forum, with top climate-aware candidates from all four parties, and 150 people attending. View the video here.
They are also developing a project to support Green Teams in local High Schools, and testing of the idea of a Sustainable Living Cooperative.
In Kamloops, the Chapter is getting ready to run its Solar Laundry Project again, kicking off with a Solar Laundry Video Contest, putting sunshine into Kamloops clothes. They’re looking for short, funny, spoof, or documentary-style videos, as long as they’re short. There are cash prizes, too, including a $300 top prize, thanks to major sponsors BC Hydro and RONA. The deadline is May 10th.
