Based at Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, Barkley Project Group is a project management consulting firm specializing in ‘green field’ renewable energy development projects. Our team has provided technical and management services to more than thirty small hydropower projects, including several that we have helped to take from the feasibility stage through to operations.

Barkley Group has also provided the front end services to dozens of potential new clean energy projects, from watershed scale feasibility studies to site-specific applications for water licenses and land tenure.

We specialize in the independent power producer (IPP) sector. Our services span the range of project development, from initial concept and feasibility to regulatory permitting, construction management and operational monitoring. Our role on a project team depends on the capacity required by the project developer. Our role can range from providing only feasibility, environmental or hydrometric services to taking the lead role in planning and coordinating all the technical, management, financing and construction services required for a new power project.
