You are invited to the upcoming Victoria Chapter meeting of the BC Sustainable Energy Association, which features a talk on the development of cycling infrastructure!

In this presentation and the discussion that will follow, we will explore...

  • Why does the car dominate in some societies, while others seem to have embraced the bicycle?
  • Should cycling be integrated into political priorities, or is there a need to develop alternative cycling culture?
  • How have varying circumstances affected the establishment of bicycle-focused policies and services?

Rob Rao, a researcher and longtime cycling advocate, will present on the social history of the bicycle and how popular movements have been a driving force in creating bold moves in cycling infrastructure around the world and throughout time.

Venue accessible with ramps and elevator.

Admission free, no registration required, public welcome, tea & coffee provided.
