Feast of Fields - a gourmet wandering harvest festival - is FarmFolkCityFolk's annual fundraising event. With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand, you can taste the very best of BC from chefs, vintners, brewers, farmers, and food artisans from across the province. Connections are made between producers and chefs, food producers and consumers, and farm folks and city folks. These connections provide an increased awareness of and appreciation for local food and agriculture. Feast of Fields is a gastronomic journey towards a sustainable, local food system.
This year's Lower Mainland event is "A Taste of History", hosted by the Wellbrook Winery on Bremner Farm in Delta, BC.
Started in the1950s by Stan Bremner, Bremner Farm is known for producing some of the best juices in Canada. Now run by sons Alan and Terry, the farm in Delta consists of 80 acres of blueberries, producing top-quality fruit prized for its intensity, full body and rich flavour. Bremner Farm also has fields of cranberries in Fort Langley and sources black cherries from the Okanagan Valley. Along with running a successful fruit juice company, the Bremners also own Wellbrook winery, specializing in blueberry, cranberry, strawberry, peach, apricot and apple wines.
