This presentation will explore the relationships between sustainable development, climate change planning, and municipal engineering.
Mark Holland MCIP, a leading sustainability planner and the Planning Institute of BC’s Planner of the Year for 2010, will share his insights into sustainable development - the latest trends (including LEED for Neighborhood Development), the long term outlook for achieving sustainable communities in BC - and the role of engineers in achieving this.
Bud Fraser PEng will identify some of the issues and challenges that engineers face in addressing sustainable development and climate change – and discuss emerging approaches and tools for energy and water related infrastructure systems in the sustainable development context.
The session will also be an opportunity for engineers to share knowledge and experiences in the fast-changing area of sustainability.
