Do you enjoy cycling and care about the environment?
If so, get involved with Pedal for the Planet!
Join exciting speakers, musicians, and athletes for the launch of the Vancouver leg of Pedal for the Planet. Riders will leave from here to start their ride to Mission. Please bring your bike and join them for the start of their ride, or take public transit to take part in the festivities and cheer them on their way.
Between June 28 and July 4, people across the country will join rides and walks to show their support for meaningful climate action. Using bikes, trains and other modes of green transport, we will demonstrate our personal commitment to change, and relay our expectations for a new climate treaty to be negotiated in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2009. We will converge on Ottawa during the weekend of September 18-20, bringing the hopes and wishes of Canadians from coast to coast to coast. You can join the team for an hour, a day, a week, the whole ride…we would love to have you for as long as you would like to participate.
In Vancouver the ride will launch at 9 am on July 4th.

We will be going over the Pedal for the Planet program, key climate change messages of the program, basic bike maintenance, and bike touring safety.
