The West Kootenay Chapter was formed in July, 2007 and has held a number of great events and meetings since then.

Our recent efforts with the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST), Selkirk College and FortisBC to bring a world class energy conference to our region has been very rewarding. Our founding chapter members have a strong interest and diverse skills in green building and sustainable communities. A great example of this is our field trip this summer to Bright Ridge Farm. Other tours, workshops and events have focused on climate change, run-of-river and micro hydro, the Columbia River Treaty, solar PV, geoexchange heating and cooling, and electric vehicles. The West Kootenay chapter meets in Room L-15, Selkirk College, Castlegar, from 6-8pm on the third Wednesday of each month.
