Learn More About Us
We are a non-profit society that empowers British Columbians to build a clean, renewable energy future.

Officially launched in summer 2004, the BC Sustainable Energy Association concerns itself with the sustainable use and production of energy in British Columbia.
Thanks to the significant support and activity of our members, the BCSEA is an effective and respected advocate on B.C.'s energy scene. Our regional chapters and hundreds of provincial members advance informed and progressive perspectives in their own communities even as we champion best policies in Victoria and Ottawa.
Our SolarBC project has helped put solar systems on hundreds of homes and assisted BC's solar industr to gain greater understanding and traction across BC.
The Climate Change Showdown program delivers interactive climate change education to grade five and six students, along with a challenge to their families to reduce their emissions. Over 54,000 students and their families have thus far been reached in this way.
Our Condominium Retrofit program is assisting condominium owners in Vancouver to make their buildings more energy efficient.
We frequently share our educational and research work with governments at all levels, calling for policies–-like energy efficiency incentive programs, the carbon tax, and greenhouse gas-free electricity generation-–that are helping us realize our potential. The BCSEA participates in regulatory reviews of BC Hydro’s energy plans, bringing expert evidence to prove the advantages of conservation and other sustainable solutions.
