Sample Email to Arouse Interest in your local Chapter

Hi there,

I am writing to you as a fellow member of the BC Sustainable Energy Association, living in the Rivendale area.

I would love to see a local Chapter formed in Rivendale, and I’m willing to take the initiative to get one started.

As a local Chapter, we would operate under the auspices of the provincial organization, yet have a great deal of freedom to pursue sustainable energy objectives at the community level. We could invite speakers, show films, organize field trips, take on local projects, encourage local businesses, councils and the Rivendale Regional District to use more sustainable energy locally, and lots more, while helping to advance the BCSEA’s vision and goals (see http://www.bcsea.org/about/#a).

We have over 70 members in the area, so we’re well past the requirement of have ten members. Would you be willing to help me organize an initial planning meeting? If so, please send me an email, or give me a call at 999-9999, so that we can find a time that works for everyone.

With best wishes,

Pat Aragorn,
Rivendale
