Participants from around Greater Victoria will have an opportunity to reflect on the most serious psychological, social, practical and political challenges facing us and creatively collaborate in an Open Space format to address the questions, “How do we want our community to look in future? How do we get there from here?”.

Managing BC’s Forests for a Cooler Planet: Carbon Storage, Sustainable Jobs and Conservation

Forests are one of the few important natural assets that we have to combat the effects of climate change. Living, healthy trees and plants store atmospheric carbon. The more of them we have, the more carbon stored.

The September meeting of BCSEA's Victoria Chapter offers a chance to get up to speed on some of the organizations current projects, and ask a host of questions. BCSEA President Guy Dauncey will talk about these activities, followed by lots of time for questions and discussion. Everyone is welcome.

It’s all very dispiriting. The Copenhagen climate conference collapsed in a mess. The climate deniers are succeeding in convincing people that global warming is a hoax; and because of their success, there will be no legislation to tackle climate change in America this year. This means that the December UN climate talks in Cancun will probably result in failure too.

New ideas are needed, not for the solutions, but for the way we tackle the problem. In this one-hour webinar, Guy Dauncey will present Seven Ideas to address this critical matter.
