Managing BC’s Forests for a Cooler Planet: Carbon Storage, Sustainable Jobs and Conservation

Forests are one of the few important natural assets that we have to combat the effects of climate change. Living, healthy trees and plants store atmospheric carbon. The more of them we have, the more carbon stored.

Join the Kamloops Chapter of the BC Sustainable Energy Association for an overview of the construction, conservation measures, and renewable energy systems that enable the 2010 Y Green Dream Home to generate as much energy as it consumes.

The September meeting of BCSEA's Victoria Chapter offers a chance to get up to speed on some of the organizations current projects, and ask a host of questions. BCSEA President Guy Dauncey will talk about these activities, followed by lots of time for questions and discussion. Everyone is welcome.

The year in review of the BCSEA Vancouver Chapter activities, followed by BCSEA's President, Guy Dauncey, as our speaker of the night. Guy will speak to the following topic: The Birth of a Green Civilization: our Role in Making it Happen.

Please join us on Monday for a presentation by Tom Hackney on the new Clean Energy Act. Also featured will be a brief review of the implications of inconsistent estimates of future oil production/consumption by Bruce Mackenzie.

Hans-Detlef Feddersen is taking a break from his Canadian vacation schedule to visit the BCSEA! Hans will talk about his experience planning, developing, financing and maintaining wind farms in rural Germany.

The May chapter meeting is the Annual General Meeting for the Okanagan Chapter, and club officers will be elected for the upcoming term.
