BCSEA Vancouver Summer Field Trip - Endurance Wind Power
On a hot and sunny August 14th, BCSEA's Vancouver chapter took a field trip out to an industrial park near the South Surrey/Langley border to visit Endurance Wind Power's Canadian assembly plant.
We had a great turnout of around 30 people. 10 were brought in by Vancouver Eco Tour's biofueled bus, while others carpooled or cycled. One of Endurance's technical services engineers, Randy Baryer, expertly showed us around and answered a lot of questions. We saw various stages of the assembly of their small and medium sized wind turbines, testing dynamos and rigs, and luckily got to view and touch an unpackaged turbine blade in their layout yard.
Part of the feedback that I received was that we should have more shop or site field trips in the future. We'll definitely look into it!
Thanks to all that came out and an even bigger thanks to Randy and Endurance for showing us around!
