2009 BC Election Petition

Call for greenhouse gas reductions, food security, green transportation and infrastructure

With the 2009 BC Election just weeks away, BCSEA wants your help to ensure that candidates understand the public's commitment to prompt and effective action to address the impending climate crisis.

The petition states: "Mounting evidence makes it clear that global warming is happening much faster than earlier scientific prediction, threatening severe disruptions to human societies, our economies and the environment. The time for delay is past. BC must move quickly to reduce its emissions and build a thriving low-carbon economy."

Print out the attached document and invite your co-workers, friends, family and neighbours to sign it. You don't need a full sheet of names: every signature counts. Please send us all petitions by April 27, 2009.

We will work with local chapters to collect these signature and communicate the results to local candidates and the provincial media in advance of election day.

Thank you for playing your part in helping us pursue energy solutions and the transition to a sustainable energy future.
