The BCSEA is proud to announce the launch of our new website

Jason Mogus, CEO and Web Strategist at Communicopia

Welcome to our new fully upgraded website! Our new site is vibrant with activity and dynamic content, and better supports our democratic, member-driven organization. With our new website and membership database, we now have the tools we need to continue to grow as we work to build a sustainable energy future in British Columbia, and set an example in Canada and worldwide. We believe this website will be central to our continued success!

Our new website has been in the works for over a year. We fundraised, and then we engaged the services of Jason Mogus, CEO of the renowned web strategy and development firm, Communicopia. We have been extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Jason as he expertly guided us into the web 2.0 era and generously donated key portions of the work that has gone into this site. Jason helped us find the right tools to tell our stories better, shine a light on the exciting things that are happening within our organization, and provide a more dynamic and interactive online experience. We had big dreams, and Communicopia's top-notch web designer and developer, Jordan Lewin, far exceeded our highest hopes as he brought those dreams to life.

The website project has been a collaborative effort between Communicopia and BCSEA members Chris Mott and Bronwyn Maxwell who dedicated hundreds of hours of their time to make this project possible. Chris designed and developed the sophisticated new membership database that integrates seamlessly with our website, making it easier for you to get involved, provide feedback and get your voice heard. Bronwyn collaborated on the design of the site, contributed to the web strategy and information architecture, upgraded the web content, and integrated the content into the site. The close collaboration of our team provided a unique opportunity to create an exceptionally polished and cohesive site.

We want to know what you think! Please respond to our poll about the new website.

Our new site may look pretty good, but we think it drives even better. We have used open source software to develop the website and membership database because this type of software is perfectly suited to serving our distributed community of chapters, members and friends. We've made things easier to find and we've made it easier for you to get involved. We've also streamlined our own workflow, so maintaining our website and communicating with all of you will be easier than ever. Now we can focus more of our resources on the things that matter the most.

First and foremost this website is for you! Please take a look around our new community hub for information about jobs, events, news and sustainable energy solutions. Sign up for enews, become a member, and help us build a sustainable energy future for British Columbia!
