Join BCSEA as the Administrator

BCSEA is seeking applications for a full-time Administrator to oversee the daily administration and coordination of BCSEA’s virtual office, events, programs and Chapters. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will contribute to the success of a BC-wide nonprofit society.

Role Description:

The successful candidate will have responsibility for:

  • Office Management
    • Administer virtual office using cloud service (file management, access administrator)
    • Represent the organization as the first point of contact via phone and email
    • Administer information and communication technology (social media accounts, website, voicemail service, staff software/hardware)
  • Chapter Administration
    • Provide administrative support to chapters as it relates to communication, financial administration, programming support and generally be the point person with regards to their needs
  • Financial Administration
    • In cooperation with the bookkeeper and staff, process accounts payable and receivables, as well as payroll
    • Prepare and coordinate bank deposits
  • Donor and Members Management
    • Administer recruitment and retention activities for members through CRM
    • Assist in the development of fundraising appeals
  • Program and Event Support
    • Provide administrative support to the organization’s programs and events, including the drafting and execution of contracts, invoices, event coordination, as well as marketing and communications
  • Nonprofit Administration
    • Insure filing for society completed annually and as required
    • Assist in preparation for financial audit
    • Work in cooperation with the Board of Directors as it relates to filing, Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
  • Communication
    • In cooperation with staff and Chapters, draft and send emails to promote and support activities, including newsletters
    • Administer the CRM as it relates to general communication
    • Administer social media accounts

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1-3 years of administration experience (nonprofit preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, and with virtual teams
  • Strong proficiency in the use of computers for office software (Google Apps), virtual communication, donor and members relations (CiviCRM), social media promotion, and website maintenance (Drupal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, including excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Access to a vehicle
  • Located in Metro Vancouver or Greater Victoria regions
  • Commitment to the BCSEA vision of a vibrant sustainable energy system and low-carbon economy in BC

Terms:

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) employment position to start as soon as possible.  The successful candidate will work virtually, supplying their own place of work. Remuneration is $23.00 per hour.
