Fact of the Month

Quote/Unquote:

"Cutting income taxes (by 10%) while increasing gasoline taxes (by 50 cents-per-gallon) would lead to more economic growth, less traffic congestion, safer roads, and reduced risk of global warming — all without jeopardizing long-term fiscal solvency. This may be the closest thing to a free lunch that economics has to offer."
- N.Gregory Mankiw, Professor of Economics, Harvard University.

Clean Energy Classrooms:
The Canadian Guide to Sustainable Energy Training

The BC Sustainable Energy Association, in partnership with RenewableRecruits, is developing a training resources guide to currently available and upcoming Canadian programs in renewable energy and energy efficiency. The Clean Energy Classrooms website is due for release by mid-May. A limited print edition is planned for October 2008 release.

The Clean Energy Classrooms guide will feature college and university-level programs in different regions of Canada, NGO and industry leaders, government initiatives and First Nations clean energy options. The objective of this initiative is to provide students and skilled workers with training and career development options and help address the current and future human resource needs of the Canadian sustainable energy industries.
