Help Keep Solar Hot Water Incentives Going Beyond 2010

As BCSEA's largest program reaches the end of its funding, we ask you to write to your local Federal MPs and show your support for solar hot water

The SolarBC program is in its final months, and federal incentives for solar thermal will run out at the end of this year. The Canadian solar thermal industry has also recently suffered unexpected cuts to the ecoEnergy home retrofit program.

The federal Minister of Natural Resources, Christian Paradis, has indicated he will provide support in asking for funding in the upcoming budget if the industry can use the summer to meet with their local MP's to convince them to support the industry's request. This work is critical and his office has been clear - we need to ensure local MPs will support any request the Minister puts forward.

We encourage everyone, from installers to homeowners and solar enthusiasts, to voice your concern about the future of this important industry and help to bring solar to the forefront of the federal government’s priority list beyond 2010.

Support from Non-CanSIA Members:

Support from CanSIA Members:

CanSIA has produced two decks that highlight our "ask" to the federal government - in both French and English, one for solar thermal air and one for solar thermal water. They have been reviewed carefully and it is set out in language that is useful to government and reflects that the members of CanSIA have tried to be reasonable and have attempted to tailor our requests to the government's expectations.

These decks in addition to an overview letter of how you should approach a local MP, where to find their contact information etc. can be found on the member's section of the CanSIA website.
