SolarBC CanSIA SDHW Installer Workshop

Non Member - $275
Exam Fee: Both CanSIA and non-CanSIA Members - $75

This solar installation workshop is brought to you by SolarBC (see: www.SolarBC.ca). One of the goals of the SolarBC Program is the installation of 2,000 solar hot water systems in homes by 2010 by providing incentives, training and facilitating installations. If you are interested in becoming a SolarBC Registered Installation Contractor, you are required to have at least one CanSIA certified installer on staff. This workshop is one of the requirements to complete the CanSIA Canadian Solar Domestic Hot Water System Installer Certification program.

The Canadian Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW) Installer Certification Exam is another one of the requirements to become a Certified Canadian SDHW System Installer. The exam (optional) that follows the workshop is an open book exam. However, if you intend to take the exam please be sure to register for the exam.

Please note you do NOT have to be an experienced installer or a licensed plumber to participate in this workshop.

Lunch and breaks will be provided and is included in the workshop cost.

Are you concerned about the future of your city? Are you concerned about the rate of development in the City of Kelowna? Come out on to hear Kelowna city mayoral and council candidates speak on sustainable development, transportation, and food supply issues within Kelowna.

This event is brought to you by the Okanagan chapter of the British Columbia Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA), CASCADIA Green Building Council, and the Okanagan Greens Society.

Ms.Watt-Cloutier was nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize (along with Al Gore and others) and has received a number of other prestigious awards.She spoke about climate change and its effects on the people of the arctic. Considering the very recent news about huge unpredicted ice losses on Ellesmere Island, this talk was very timely.

Spout Events provided some of the proceeds from this event to go to the innovative BCSEA/Habitat for Humanity solar hot water project.

A dialogue with community leaders. BCSEA vice-president Scott Sinclair was one of the featured speakers at this event.

September 12th, 2006 - BCSEA Okanagan Chapter Meeting.

Featured "Global Warming: The Greatest Show on Earth" with Guy Dauncey.

August 26 & 27, 2006 - Visions of Kelowna: Beyond the Film Festival.

The Canadian EarthCare Society presented several films including the "End of Suburbia", "The Future of Food", and "Chasing the Cancer Answer". There was also a dialogue on Sunday the 27th, featuring local politicians and their visions of the future.
